West Wales is an fantastic destination for leisurely family cycle rides, challenging road cycling tours or an action-packed mountain bike trip. Cyclists and mountain bikers are very welcome at Llainddu Farm and well catered for. There is ample lockable storage space provided for bikes and kit in the shed adjacent to the cottage, with a washdown area for hosing down bikes after muddy rides, and plenty of space for drying wet clothes. The cottage is set in rolling countryside providing immediate access to a network of country lanes ideal for cycling. The cottage is also situated just a mile along the road from the newly opened Nant Gronw Forestry Commission site providing a number of quite challenging cross-country and downhill mountain bike trails. These trails are set in stunning countryside, great fun and not widely known about yet - thus still very quiet! Your hosts will happily provide maps and advice on rides at Nant Gronw. As well as providing cycling and mountain biking possibilities from the doorstep, the cottage is ideally situated to access family bike rides and mountain bike trails in Brechfa Forest and surrounding area. These are summarised below:


On the Preseli Hills

  • From the doorstep: short rides around the farm, longer road rides on quiet country lanes and 1 mile to mountain bike trails at Nant Gronw Forestry Commission site.

  • Within 10-15 miles of cottage: The brilliant Brechfa Forest cross country trails (including Tower and Keepers) and mountain bike downhill trail centres (including Raven, Derwen and Gorlech trails), stunning cross country routes across Preseli Mountains, access to Sustrans National Cycle Network Routes 47 and 81, and family bike rides around the National Nature Reserve at Cilgerran.

  • Within 20 miles of cottage: Fantastic off-road family cycle routes along the coast at the Millenium Coastal Park in Llanelli and Pembrey Country Park, family mountain bike trails around the lake at Llys-y-Fran country park, and fantastic routes around Tregaron and the Brecon Beacons.

  • Further afield: Also within an hour's drive of the cottage and well worth a day trip are the mountain bike trail centres at Afan Argoed, Cwm Rhaeadr and Nant Yr Arian.

Situated in the heart of south west Wales in the Carmarthenshire countryside, with the lovely beaches of Cardigan Bay and Pembrokeshire in easy reach, Llainddu Farm Holiday Cottage commands superb views across the beautiful Teifi Valley and provides immediate access to fifteen acres of private woods and farmland, with farm walks and abundant wildlife. The tastefully restored and furnished cottage sleeps up to 7 people (cot also available on request).
